The Pillow
This Piece inspired me to work with pillows within my own work. The body morphing into the pillow. The body protecting itself curling into the pillow on top of a small wooden box captures the being relying on the comfort of this domestic object on which to morph into and become the pillow. You can walk around the piece and look down at it falling into the piece yourself. The pillow is such an intimate object which holds you very night comforting you. Scared of being bare I can see the being becoming the pillow to cover the shame of its nakedness. The pillow is about the becoming the second body hiding. The pillow was a kind of hope for the figure swallowing him not in a monstrous way but as a lover. It is like the body never wants to lose the pillow.
